Sports Medicine is a specialty that I was certified in in 1993 and again recertified in 2003. I try to bring the knowledge that I've learned from treating athletes to EVERYONE who has aches, pains, and injuries--recreational athletes, injured workers, pain patients,
and even the elderly. I've had the opportunity to treat world class Ice Skaters, Marathon Runners, and high school
football players. I've also treated hundreds of runners, tennis, and hockey players. Sports Medicine is about injuries, but it's also about
fitness, it's about exercise programs that you can maintain, and it's about prevention. It's a great field as a doctor and
I believe it offers many types of patients a special kind of focus that is missing in other fields that treat similar problems.
Recently I was listed among Men's Health magazine's Top Doctors in Sports Medicine in an
article entitled "Top Doctors for Men".
This was an honor that I believe acknowledges the importance of non-surgical approaches in Sports Medicine.
